Pull up a chair and let your hands slow down for an evening.

Service Description

Pull up a chair and let your hands slow down for an evening. Slow Stitch is a hand-stitching experience for anyone who's ever wanted to make something by hand but never picked up a needle — no experience necessary, and no class to keep up with. You'll choose one stitching design from a selection inspired by the work of Anni Albers, printed onto wash-away fabric. Peel the dissolvable fabric off its backing, stick it to your project, and simply stitch over the printed lines — once you're finished, soak and rinse the fabric away to reveal your work. Halfway through the evening, we'll add a collage element using repurposed fabric, layering texture and color into your piece as it takes shape. This is a simple, low-pressure way to spend an evening — a small act of up-cycling and a step toward a healthier relationship with what we make. Along the way you'll learn about visible mending traditions from eight different cultures, and leave with a piece that's entirely your own. Sip a beverage, take in the artwork on the walls, work with your hands, and meet the people stitching beside you. This isn't a class — it's a chance to slow down, connect, and make something together. Everyone takes their finished project home.
